Used to do this when I was younger. It is a very slow process. You must spray your hair everyday and spend hours in the sun. Makes your hair look greasy and you have to reapply if you get in the water. But after 3 weeks or so you might notice some difference. It's a whole lot easier to buy highlights and do it yourself.

Just take fresh lemon(s) with you on any sunny recreational outing, whenever you won't mind the stringy look for a few hours. Perhaps after a swim, with a book and drink in hand, squeeze that lemon directly on your hair, seeds and all, don't comb! Last time I used a bandana around my head at the hairline, partly for the look, and partly to protect my face from extra sun. Later give your hair some extra conditioning. Works wonders, and you'll get a natural streak.

I'm unsure about using lemon as a lightener, but the herb Camomile is valued for its natural lightening properties and as a colour improver of blond hair. For a rinse, infuse 2 tablespoons of dried chamomile flowers in 600ml of boiled, hot water for half to one hour; strain and use the infusion as a final rinse, pouring it through the hair and collecting it each time in a bowl. Dry off in the sun. This time of the year is an excellent time of year to try this out.

yes it does and it is permanent so be sure to place the lemon juice where you want it. it lightens about one shade each time you use it.

Yes, I used to put lemon juice in my hair and turn the blow dryer on it, or, sit out in the sun!

Yes it does, but how much depends on your hair. If your hair is already lighter and is dry or has been color treated it will lighten it up very much~ black hair doesn't lighten as well!

I couldn't really say but thinking about it logically, I would say that if you looked at the lemon juice for long enough your hair would probably fall out!

yes, the citric acid in lemons will lighten your hair, take stains out of clothing, and give things a citris like smell. :)
