Depends on the TV show, shows I reckon that do include:
- Sesame Street
- BBC Blue Peter
- BBC Local Heroes (grown up, but ok for kids)
- John Wilson's GO FISHING (grown up, but ok for kids)
- KNIGHTMARE
- anything presented by Johnny Ball: http://www.johnnyball.co.uk/AboutJBpage.htm
- BBC Playschool / PlayBus (discontinued, I think)
- BBC's The Sky at Night with Sir Patrick Moore (kid friendly-ish)
- Rex Hunt's Fishing Adventures (kid friendly-ish)
- Croc Files (with Steve & Terri Irwin)
show's that don't necessarily, but keeps 'em straight:
- Thomas the Tank engine & Friends
- Dogtanian & the 3 Muskehounds
- Trumpton
- The Charlie Brown & Snoopy Show
- Garfield & Friends
- Postman Pat
- Around the World with Willy Fogg
- The Legend of White Fang
- Inspector Gadget
- Pigeon Street
- The Dreamstone
- King Rollo
- Mr Ben
Shows I reckon are highly questionable as to whether they do:
- Teletubbies
- Anything featuring Eminem
- Reality TV Shows
- PowerPuff Girls

No. You can't increase your intelligence. If what you are asking is if TV will make them smarter, then I would still have to say that in general, no. But there are certainly some shows that can help; educational programs on Discovery Kids can help children to use their brains in ways they may not get the chance to otherwise. I'm a firm believer if you want to help make your kids smarter then books are the best way to go... and hands on experience. Sitting in front of a TV all day will dumb you down.

I have seen numerous psychological studies that prove the opposite. There is a lot to learn from television, but it does nothing without parents to supplement and reinforce the information, infusing it with lessons in social behavior and good personal care.
Parents can help kids be more intelligent.

on a part yes-because kids learn a lot of things what they don't know and is a fact that they are too curious, but also the TV is a manipulation of other people and the kids learn what these people want them to learn

I think that TV is capable of teaching children some things, but does not increase their level of intelligence.

That would solely depend on what television shows the kid is watching and the information that he or she is being exposed to.

for little kids/toddlers, shows designed to teach toddlers are good. sesame street, noggin...but NOT nickelodian.
Older kids need science and subjects relative to their schoolwork. They do not need crummy, violent and poorly worded cartoons at all!!

Depends entirely on what they are watching.. Cartoons don't make the grade and are too often infiltrated with propaganda.
