I agree totally!

Welcome to the ME generation, one of rudeness and entitlement attitudes. This is really a problem in todays society. Unfortunately, all we can do is be nice, polite and maintain our own manners and hope that it rubs off on folks!

I have 3 grown sons that are very polite and I get complimented on it all the time for a wonderful job well done!

Keep up the good work and stay nice!

Some have and some haven't. You might think so because of the environment that you are in and the people you know. For instance, if the people around are pregnant at age 13 or are doing drugs, you will think the world is this way today. But it is not true. There are many families that are very strict and kids are afraid to talk or move without permission. Have you ever heard of kids saying that their parents are strict??? If yes, it means that the world still have some good people. So don't take it just one way.

I don't think the planet is going to parrish because of bad manners and kids getting pregnant around the same time they did a little over 100 years ago. It was *very* common for people to get married at 13, 14, 15, 16 a century or two ago. The world didn't collapse then.

The society is only dissolving rapidly in your eyes because you are seeing more of it on the news.

Oh, my 2 year old son says "(Pees)Please", "(TenTu)Thank You", and even "(BessYu)Bless You" He even knows when they should be said. :)

I see what you mean, there are a lot of children that are not respectful and that are just plain bad, but there are some that are good. My husband and I teach our beautiful daughters manners, respect, and how to be and act like a young lady, even at their young age 8, 4 and 3. I am always told that they are well behaved and that they are different then other children. I just wanted to give you some hope, that their are some parents that are training their children in the way they should go. God Bless!!!!

It makes you wonder now days, doesn't it! Yes I think some have! And it makes twice as hard for us parents that are trying to instill some morals into our children! Because our kids go to school with their kids and we always hear," but she gets to do it!." And I always have to tell my daughter ," Sorry I am not that kids parent and if I were they would not be doing it either!" But we manage and I know that one day (if I work really hard now) my daughter will be a productive member of society! I wonder if those other kind of mothers can look forward to that?

I think parents do their best to raise their child in a good way, but the thing is that kids, teenagers, get so effected from all kinds sources, which are available all the time (Internet, TV).

So most of the times, it's not the parentses fault at all.

Well, my family certainly hasn't. Our 5 year old has manners and morals. She knows that her behavior has consequences.

That is the problem with most of society. People don't want to say that anything is "wrong" for fear of being labeled politically incorrect.

But certain behaviors are wrong, and if you do not set expectations for your kids, they will not know how you want them to act. That is why our kindergartner is already at the top of her class, as far as intelligence and behavior goes.

For sure! BUT you must understand...you can do all the teaching in the world...but a kid is going to do what they want in the end....I have seen it time and time again. Kids coming from decent homes with decent parents who provide them with their needs, teach them morals, manners, etc...and yet these lil bastards STILL go out and make wrong decisions. BOTTOMLINE: The parent is not always the reason why their children wild out!!!

Children are having children and most of them have never been taught proper manners or etiquette. There are 30 year old women who are Grandmothers. It's frightening to see what our society will be like in another 20 years.

Society has made it "OK" for parents to do this. Parents dont seem to care and in some cases aren't allowed to care. I am lucky my parents were almost over protective....At the same time Society has made it a crime to disipline your children....when I was small and did something wrong i got my butt smacked if i back talked my mother i got a smack on the mouth...i was never abused, but disiplined....if you smack your child now someone wants to throw you in jail.....we need to look at people who dont have children who are pointing fingers at people who do and are telling them they're doing things all wrong. When its ok to tell your kids no and bust their butt when they're yelling and screaming and pulling racks over in the Wal-mart things will start to get better. ( I"M NOT SAYING ITS OK TO BEAT AND ABUSE......BUT A SMACK ON THE BUM!)
