If I truly needed help I would be grateful if there are not indications of self gain on his part I would adopt him but if he did it to show how smart he can be I would still thank him but go to the corner and throw up.

Personally, it would depend on the circumstances. There really aren't many people out there that will help if they see you that you need help (having recently had to push my car out of an intersection by myself with perfectly capable people WATCHING me). There would be a part of me wondering if there was some ulterior motive at hand. It would also depend on how the guy behaved.

For example, if I were changing a tire, tuning up my car, or performing some other kind of inspection of the engine and fluids, and a guy asked if I needed help and proceeded to help me or find help if necessary, then I would be very grateful and impressed. There are a lot of guys out there that would be jerks about it and become very irritated about the fact that a WOMAN knows about cars or was even attempting to fix something herself.

I guess it is all about manners and how we were all raised.

I'm a very independent woman, so I don't like help unless I ask for it. But some women are different. I've always dated lazy men, and it's a miracle if they ever step in to help me out with anything, so I just quit expecting them to help. I guess it depends on the lady.

How are you helping her out or wanting to help her out.

Some women are users. So I would be watching myself really closely.
Maybe do something without her knowing it was you so she doesn't feel obligated.
How long into the relationship are you????

Well, it depends on the woman. If she is a user or a genuine person really in need of help. If she is real and decent she would very much appreciate a friend who is there when needed.
