I like Kinzie Chophouse or Morton's is good too but very expensive (it's all a la carte and the steaks are like $40).

I have to believe half of the people answering this question have never eaten at these places. If you want a GREAT steak in a nice "neighborhood" spot, it's Cy's at 4138 N. Lincoln Ave. There is no better steak in the city, especially for the price. You can't believe how well they'll season it and the service is impeccable.
The other great place is Ruth's Chris in the 400 block of Dearborn (corner of Hubbard and Dearborn). This is very upscale and replaced both Morton's and Houston's as the favorite meeting place of CEOs. In fact, it's the reason Houston's died. When you go there, you have to do the garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus, as well as the to-die-for bread pudding.
Forget the Reader as your source on good eating. The average age of their readers is only 22. Check out the Sun Times readership instead...you'll find out where the REALLY good food is!

There are quite a few excellent steakhouses in Chi-town. The differences between them are more in the atmosphere than the steak.
According to the Chicago Reader, Gibsons Steakhouse, 1028 N. Rush St., Chicago, (312) 266-8999, and N9ne, 440 W. Randolph St., Chicago, (312) 575-9900, have the best food.

Chicago Chophouse - Why because they have large steaks, cooked to perfection and with the right touch of spices. Simply amazing. Have been several times.
