Well, from personal experience it's always a bad idea, because if it doesn't work out you're going to have a very bad work relationship, and somebody usually ends up having to quit or gets fired. If it does work out, great, but again, somebody is going to have to transfer, quit or get fired, maybe both, as most bosses won't tolerate office romances, and have policies against it. Also, all that office gossip puts pressure on the relationship.
But, if you ARE still going to dip your pen into the company ink, only date someone your junior at work. When it all comes out you might still be able to hold onto your job.

Yes I have and I am still with him. Our 1 year anniversary just passed. I work in a hotel at the front desk and he is the chef in the restraunt. I loved being able to see him everyday. He actually just got a job somewhere else so it's different without him around, but i get to see him when i go home. Keep it professional at work. Don't hug and kiss around all your co-workers. Be mature about it. Anything can work.

Don't EVER date your co-worker unless you plan to leave that employer. If you do, your troubles will haunt you. If you plan on leaving the employer, hit and quit every fine female you can, and get the h.... out of dodge!

i did for about 2 months. She was about 8 yrs younger, but very mature nad we kept things cool for a while...once we had sex (she was very passionate) the lunch dates started, the on-the-job emails and there was even a complaint that she was seen in my office. I eventually quit that job, but not b/c of her...it was just good timing...then she moved.
