Aaw it is so powerful. If I have been you i could set up an area she would be able to play with the water. as an occasion, placed some water in some huge flower pots or perhaps enable her rump around interior the tub with some tiny little bit of water. Then i could only prepare her to place off fiddling along with her bowl. secret's only too channel her potential in a extra useful thank you to no longer punish it for enjoying (a organic and important instinct).

I have 2 Siberian Huskies that both put their feet in their water bowl. One of them (when she's not putting her feet in the water bowl) drinks very daintily and neatly from the bowl, without getting any water on the floor. My other huskey is just the opposite - there is nothing subtle about that girl! She will charge her water bowl, submerge her face in it (nose included) up to her eyes, then pull her head out of the bowl and stand there and look me, with water running out of both sides of her mouth. Then she will walk up to me and cough, spraying me with the remaining water that's drooling out of her mouth. Needless to say, I spend a lot of time mopping my floor when she is in the house. My dogs also have their own plastic "kiddie" pool outside that they like to get in when it's hot. One of my dogs (the dainty drinker) will get in the pool, lay down, and just lounge around in the pool. My other dog charges the pool, makes a big splash, and then once inside the pool, makes circles around the edge of the pool trying to "bite" the water! I guess it's a good way for them to cool off and have fun at the same time.

I have English bulldogs who do the same thing and it drove me crazy only becuase water got under their crates and made rust stains on the floor. We wound up purchasing 2 quart stainless steel buckets at PetSmart, but you can find them on the web in any size you need.

Ours have one flat side so they lay against the crate. They came with a latch to attach it to the wire frame of the crate. Neither dog, and both love to play in water, play in their pails. They can put their muzzles in deep enough to drink all they want without splashing water everywhere. Plus, they hold enough water for them that I only have to wash and re-fill once a day.

She's playing and having fun, OR she is warm and wants to get her paws and luzzle wet to feel cooler. Some dogs just love to play in water. I suggest putting a vinyl mat under her water bowl!!

dogs do that if they can smell a diferant animal scent on the bowl, or if it tends to see other dogs/cats around so that the otheres won't use it. also boxers, and hounds will smell every scent so don't touch the inside of it very often and wash it 1 a month or more. also MALE dogs and cats do that if they r not neutered. so if its not neutered that is probably the reason.

Because she loves water and is a water dog. My black lab loves water; I can turn the hose on high and fling the water spray along and she runs after it and bites it and loves to play in her plastic (kids) pool at the same time.

They like to play. There could be one tiny hair in the water and they will go after it. Also they do it when they are hot. After getting their paws wet, they will wipe them across their faces.. Another dog may also have been drinking out of it and they are trying to get rid of their smell.
