I married my wife in the United States after getting her a K1 fiancee visa. She then received a green card in under a year. K1 is smooth as long as you do everything exactly as instructed by USCIS. This is also the process that is most recommended by USCIS... so the answer in definitely K1 fiancee visa. Take it from someone who actually went through the process. Do not listen to all the bull out there from everyone that knows nothing about the real process, and definitely do not waste your money with a lawyer, because you do not need one. My wife is from Ukraine. Also do not marry outside the USA, and then go with the K3. It makes things more difficult, and it takes longer.

K1 is a nonimmigrant visa for a fiance(e) (i.e. you are not married yet), which can be changed to permanent residence status once married. K3 is a a nonimmigrant visa for a spouse (i.e. already married) to enter the country while their permanent residence application is being processed.

Well, are you married or not? If you are, you or your spouse (whichever of you is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident) should apply for a K-3. If not, apply for a K-1; you will have to get married within 90 days upon arrival in the U.S.

Also, if one of you is a U.S. citizen living in the U.S. and you are already married, you might consider getting an immigrant visa (IR1 or CR1).
