Because he is Republican and Republicans only care about the economy. We the people should do more by ourselves to change the environment and not just rely on Political Puppets.

'coz it would mean shutting down half of America's industries, since America contributes more towards greenhouse gases production than any other country. George bush is too chickened to do anything that drastic.
Or maybe Condoleeza rice has him on a leash.
Or maybe he doesn't understand what global warming means. He must think it is something to do with the AC not working properly.

For one, he doesn't believe that it is a problem. At least that is what he says. Even with all the scientific evidence that has been shown to him, he still doubts that Global Warming exists. You would think that all the hurricanes, especially Katrina, would have made him open his eyes to this problem, but obviously he is either too stubborn or too stupid.
He also is too busy with things he feels are important... gay marriage(those evil, evil homosexuals!), illegal aliens(like this is something new), trying to cover up all the mistakes he made with Iraq, and now he has a new war to start in Iran. Is it any wonder he has no time to worry about Global Warming?.... for shame...

George Bush shouldn't do something yet enhance international warming, create greater poverty, & salary greater war. George Bush isn't in basic terms a unfavourable excuse for a president, yet a unfavourable excuse for a individual.

Earth is estimated to have warmed 0.6 °C ± 0.2 °C in about 100years

Since February 16, 2005, the Kyoto Protocol has cost US$ 212,699,194,154 while potentially saving an undetectable 0.002205769 °C by the year 2050.

I have to agree with TheOnlyBeldin, he can't do anything about it. The question makes it sound as if he had direct control and could just decide to do something. He can't. Congress makes the laws. Scientists invent things that may help. Bush has very little say in the matter. For example, Gore signed the Kyoto Protocol when he was vice president, but since the Senate refuses to ratify it, his signature is worthless, as would be any presidential signature.

The administration is trying to get Al Gore to shut his mouth to help global warming.
The truth is that earth climate occurs in cycles from cold to warm and this is merely a warm cycle, and then maybe another ice age. Man has little or nothing to do with it.

George Bush, like most of the people in his administration, has close ties to the oil industry. It is not in his best interest or anyone else who is profitting from oil consumption to do anything that might negatively impact either the auto or the oil industries.

I heard he was encouraging companies to look into developing ethanol. I think we would all do better to work on it as a whole nation and not expect one person to do something. If we all chose one day to walk instead of drive, or if we just kept the Sabbath day and didn't require stores or industries or anything other than emergency type services to stay open, that would help a lot, too. Also, just things like vacationing in your own state would help.
