I have a cough and I realized I was drinking more cough medicine then I should. Is that bad?

Overdosing on anything is bad. It defeats the purpose. Take only the dose recommended unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

It is very bad to drink while taking most medications but especially cold and/or cough medicine. Alcohol inhibits many chemical processes in the body and makes many medications worthless. There are some medications like cold and cough medicine that have dangerous interactions with alcohol.

More of everything is usually bad. Generally the cough medicines would contain Alcohol, Pain Killers like (Acetaminophen) cough suppressant like (Dextromethorphan HBr).
so Alcohol would make you drowsy and too much and too frequesnt use of cough suppressant may cause the cough to remain inside the lungs and can be dangerous. I was told be my doctors to avoid taking too much cough suppressants for the same reason.
Some pain killers like Acetaminophen and ibuprophen are also known to reduce the blood platelet counts.

Very. The biggest mistake is to take two tablespoons instead of two teaspoons. One of my friends did this for a week before I noticed and it explained why he felt so high and dillusional. And it was also cough medicine.

Yes, especially if it's narcotic. The pharmacy can give you something to measure the correct dosage for free.

Yes! There are dosages labeled clearly on packaging just so people don't take too much or too little.

can be but most generally it wont do anything , sept if its the kind that makes you sleepy then u might sleep more that's all
