I cut a plastic mineral water bottle so that the top end forms a funnel. It put the funnel on top of the bottom half which has some water in it and put my fresh herbs root end into the funnel. It allows just the roots to touch the water and keeps the herbs fresh for 2 weeks. Cover the top with a plastic bag loosely and place in door of fridge so it doesn't tip over.

When cooking fish, leave a bottle of vinegar or lemon juice open in the kitchen to neutralize the odor.

Onions should not be touching each other or they spoil faster. Also, put fresh asparagus in a container so the bottoms are soaking in about an inch or water to keep them fresh longer.
