I wouldn't say that exactly. In the spiritual sense of the Bible, "Israel" are those of the church. The Israel and Jerusalem and Jews I know are Christians of the Christian Church.
The nation of Israel needs to treat all citizens equally. Right now it is legal to discriminate against Christians and Muslims within the nation of Israel to preserve the Jewish Religion that does not believe in Jesus Christ's divinity.

I'm on your side, and I wish you well... but there's something that you should know. the western powers, who seem to support you, are not really your friends. When the set up Israel, it was not because they were being nice. It was because they thought it to be a necessary step leading up to the fulfilment of Christian interpretation of biblical prophecy, which requires the rebuilding of the Temple, followed by the return of all Jews to the homeland... then god destroying the temple again, and the total annihilation of all Jews who do not accept Jesus as their lord and savior.
I do not believe ANY of that biblical crap... but Jews need to be aware that their Christian friends aren't really their friends at all... they see themselves only helping to steer events toward the path of what is 'written', in order to facilitate the Jews' ultimate demise.
Of course, ordinary run-of-the-mill Christians don't know ANYTHING about ANY of this... heck, they don't even know the real history of their own religion.

Who God's favorite people are depends on the country your are in when you ask the question. If you ask in France, for example, the chosen people will be the French. If you ask in Burma, they will be the Burmese. If you ask in the middle east, it will be the diaperheads.
