My dog has stopped drinking water. He gets two 30 minute walks every day. It is very hot where I live, around 100 degrees, so you would expect him to drink some water....but he isn't. He is always panting now-a-days. His water gets refilled every day and he drinks the same water that my family and I drink. What could be wrong?

After walks, he drinks a tiny bit of water, but he used to drink a lot more.

You need to take the dog to a vet. They can dehydrate quickly, especially in this weather.

Of course take him to the vet because that doesn't sound right but also check the temperature of the water.
My dad takes a flask of cold water with him when he takes his dog for a walk. when they get back to the car he lets the dog drink the cold water!
When the dog gets home he doesn't always drink from his bowl as it is warm, so my mum has to put fresh cold water down, especially after walkies!
We are having a heat wave at the moment in England and my mum is having to replace the dogs water at least 3-4 times a day now, whereas before just once a day would have been enough!!
Good luck and I hope your dog makes a full recovery!

If your dog has not been drinking for the past few days you need to get him to the vet NOW. He will die of dehydration soon if he really hasn't had anything to drink in several days.
THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM: GET HIM SOME HELP NOW!!!

I agree with the others: Take him to a vet and make sure he's not sick.
Also, try putting ice cubes in his water to cool it down. Some animals like that a lot!

My dog would not drink water because he had a sickness. He has epilepsy, pancreases, and Kennel cough. We took him to the vet and we learned he had pancreas problems. Take your dog to the vet is all I can say.

Sounds like your dog has discovered the toilet.
Dogs pant because they perspire thorough their tongue.

please take him to the vet ASAP... this could be a sign of a very serious illness, or heat exhaustion... PLEASE go to the vet and get him checked out, and in the meantime, keep him someplace cool, and limit his exposure to the heat for potty breaks ONLY
