No dreaming and schizophrenia are very different. Dreaming is a normal part of a healthy sleep cycle. Schizophrenia is a chronic debilitating mental illness that can alter virtually every aspect of a person's being, thoughts, feelings, perceptions, sense of self, bodily coordination, social skills, interpersonal relationships, career and ability to care for self.
Most people who dream realise it is just a dream. A person with schizophrenia perceives what is happening as real andf often has little insight into their condition.
If you have worries about your mental health see your doctor as self diagnosis can be dangerous and unhelpful.

No. For the most part, dreaming is a subliminal way to execute your short term memory unconsious into a reality of you waking life to help you solve problem (or at least that is what I used to hear in all of the Psychology classes I took in college).

If you are dreaming and know it is dreaming you are not schizophreniac...many schizophrenics cannot tell what is a dream and what is reality.

An altered reality is when you have had little to no sleep without any outside drugs if it is authentic and still see things that you don't want to see and not always good things because they scare you..then you might be called schizophrenic or the best new member of Miss Cleo's Psychic Hotline!

NO, Is not the same thing? My best friends daughter was diagnosed around 13 yrs old and she is 18 now. She never talked about her dreams/nightmares. She heard the voices and stuff while she was awake throughout the day ... If you are that worried go to a doctor and let them run all of the tests and make sure...Good Luck!!!

Dreams are good whether it's a nightmare or not. Dreams are like preasure valves and often reveal solutions and information that the waking state does not permit. If you are worried you may have a mental illness find a real professional and don't mess around with us.
