I think that a 14 year old that's mature enough to date an 18 year old would realize that an 18 year old interested in dating a 14 year old is not the sort of person to date. A 14 year old who thinks it could work, is too immature to date an 18 year old. True love can wait a couple of years...
In short, it's a bad idea all-around.

I had sex with a 13 year old when I was 25, so 14 to 18 is no big deal!

It depends on the sex. If it's a younger man with an older woman, I don't feel like the man is being taken advantage of. However, if it's a 14 year old girl with and 18 year old man, I have an issue with that. Girls are very vulnerable and easily taken advantage of because the follow their hearts, whereas boys follow one of their two brains. There are exceptions to the rule on both ends, too. Above what me or anyone else thinks, it's illegal in a majority of the places in the U.S.

Yes. Besides it's against the law. You are way too young to be dating a 18 year old.

Yes and illegal. The difference in maturity between 14 and 18 is WAY different that it would be between 20 and 24 years old.

These people are being a little presumptuous - There is nothing illegal about it - anywhere. But you still might want to check your states laws. And there is also nothing wrong with it morally or spiritually either - previous answerer's have not walked a mile in your shoes and I have. Just be careful, realize that the 14 year old is still a kid and use a condom - for the love of god, use a ******* condom!

It's not illegal for them to date. The problem is that 18 year olds are ready for sex that 14 year olds are hopefully not engaging in. I would hope they are supervised a lot or the illegal part could become an issue.

Yeah, sorry. It's just too easy for an 18 year old to take advantage of the 14 year old, and manipulate them. I know it doesn't seem like he would, but if that were true he'd have a girl closer to his own age (and legal).

At your age a 4 year difference seems like a lot, my husband is 8 years older then me so if I was your age I'd be 14 and he'd be 22, see what I mean? It isn't bad but society says you're too young til after you are 21.
