Bananas contain tryptophan, which is a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin. Serotonin is known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier. A recent research showed that depressed people usually feel a little better after eating a banana. It's not a cure for depression, but at least it helps a little. It's worth a try.

Not one fruit on its own, however people who are suffering from depression often have little interest in food and thus can suffer from vitamin deficiencies which can make the depression seem worse.
Eat five portions of fruit and veg a day and try to eat a healthy balanced diet. Bananas are a "feel good" food as they are rich in potassium

No, but eating helps. Search Yahoo!Answers for depression, as there are tips about what foods, in addition to fruit, may help.
Or you may want to check out the symptoms list on www.hufa.org.
