would the computer freack out and what would happen if you told the computer it was 1999 on new year eve and then let it go to 2000?

this was the topic of much paranoia during 1999 and was known as the millenium bug. Military units were on standby incase the worlds computers went down causing an economic collapse. In the end all that happened was a few video recorders had to be reset to 1972 which had the same dates as 2000.

Lots of people looked very silly after that one

no... just like if your dog met jesus, your dog would still just sniff his crotch.

some things are only meaningful to us, because we make them meaningful. your computer has no hopes or dreams or expectations, so it probably wouldn't assign any significance to any date unless a programmer instructed it to.

that's why y2k was a scare, some people had been really lazy with their code so that not all the digits would change for the year. some computers would think it was 0000 or 1900, but it really wasn't much of an issue was it? it might be if they ever start thinking...

you need to remember that computers are only as clever as the person who programmed it, and i dont think anyone ever programmed a computer to know when computers were first conceived, so theoretically you could say it was the year 1ad and the computer wouldnt give a monkey

I dont talk to my computer for two reasons,
one I would have to be mad and two I would have to be mad. I realise this is the same answer but I felt it was so important I should say it twice.

it relies upon on the contents and actual visual allure of your pc like what the lady who brushes her tooth reported.., crammed with porns??? that's a boy or Lesbian crammed with Gossips?? that's a woman!! or gay?? :) sluggish information superhighway??? wager?? toddler??? Windows would tell you that the time and date was wrong if you try to get updates.
