Salt is a mineral.
It dissolves in water.
You can get it from different places.
Traditionally it was gotten from ocean watter by flooding a low area during high tide and damming the water in. Once the water evaporated, the salt was left behind.
Salt can also be mined, it does occur naturally in rock.
Note that the reason the ocean gets saltier all the time is that rain on land leaches salt from the ground into the rivers. The concentration is very low. That same water eventually makes its way to the ocean, then gets evaporated out of the ocean, leaving the salt behind. Over a very long time, that salt continues to gather in the ocean.

Salt is a mineral in rock formation that comes from the bottom of oceans. There is a Salt Cay (Key) located in the Atlantic Ocean Southeast of the Bahamas by the Turk's and Caicos Islands (Provedinciales), where most of the country's salt comes from......different companies have it sent to them so they can package it and sell it to consumers.........

Typical table salt is mined, sea salt is evaporated from sea water. Salt, chemically speaking, is NaCl or sodium choride. You can make it from exposing the two chemicals sodium and clorine to each other.

Yes they do actually, the earth is the source of all life and minerals, etc. So theoretically you could say that.
