Do lunges. Start with feet together. Take one step forward, about twice as far as a normal step. Slowly lower yourself until your the knee of the leg you are stepping with is directly over your foot and your knee is at a 90 degree angle. Try to do this without the other knee touching the ground. Hold this position for a couple seconds, then draw your rear foot forward until it is even with the other foot. Repeat with the other foot this time. After your get really good at these (it can take a while to get the balance down) try using small weights while you do it. Be sure not to over extend when you lunge. This can hurt your knees and lower back. To start you might want to take shorter lunges until you feel comfortable doing them.

Best thing u can do is lots of squatsi.e. stand then crouch as if your sitting down and stand up again. It also depends where you lose weight from first if it is your bum and thighs then plenty of jogging etc will get the weight down.

Running up and down the stairs. It's a killer but it works ...

Or use the bottom two stairs as steps and just go up and down and up and down using alternating lead legs.
