Hi RichKat,
I received your email but was unable to reply to you via your email because Yahoo stated that it hadn't been verified (your email address that is). So, here is what I wrote:
My wife and I take Dr. Bill's Choice Pure Hoodia and, as I stated in my posts, it works well for us.
However, you should know that Hoodia is simply an appetite suppressant. The action it has on your body will reduce your appetite but it will NOT complete take away your hunger. Two of the reasons it can't do this are:
1) It isn't a pharmaceutical drug -- these can be engineered so that all hunger signals are reduced or eliminated. In my opinion this isn't safe long-term but it can be helpful in certain medical situations.
2) Hoodia, while being accepted by your body as glucose, does not interfere with the neurotransmitter response that is controlled by your brain. That is, since your brain is fueled by 100% carbohydrate-derived glucose, if the level of glucose in your body drops too low, signals will be sent to encourage you to consume foods that will result in glucose uptake -- this is what you're probably experiencing as 'hunger' and it's a legitimate response.
In general, if you're taking a hoodia product that is helping -- stick with it. I'm convinced that the Dr. Bill's Choice Pure Hoodia is one of the best available (I've tried about a dozen of them with the help of hundreds of my clients). But, if what you've got works, that's great!
A question I have, with the reference to the above information about glucose in mind, is this: How many calories are you taking in each day? This is important since your body requires a minimum of calories to function properly.
Sincerely,
Lonnie Honeycutt, C.N.C.

Yah, no good. All pills are like that and you risk injury to body. Just take a glance at any of the side effects. Even on pills you have to eat right and exercise..so you really can skip the pills altogether. And its not good on your body. If you are hungry, you should be eating. By significantly lowering what you intake, your body goes into starvation mode and actually hoards fat...so your not accomplishing anything there. Start a food journal. Write down everything that hits your lips. Count fat grams. 20-30 a day for women 30-40 a day for men. And exercise 30 min. a day. I lost 100 lbs. that way successfully and created new eating habits. So, now its not even something i have to think about...i just know what to eat and what not to eat. I make better food choices. I've never went hungry and find myself eating all day long.
