Felipe Calderon, from the same party of Fox, would only govern for the affluent and rich, and continue to expulse the poor people as Fox has done in the last six years.

Stop asking dumb questions. Obviouly you dont know that there has not been anyb president elected yet until Sept. 1st deadline. Is this just another ignorant slur just to talk bad about Mexico?

Last year, illegals sent 20 billion dollars back to Mexico, which is crucial to the Mexican economy and effectively prevents it from collapsing. This allows the corrupt Mexican elite to continue its policies of taking care of the rich and screwing everyone else. So Fox is not expelling any poor people. He and the whole Mexican government encourage illegals to come here. It's crucial to the Mexican economy. A less corrupt party in control of the Mexican government might do more to provide jobs for its people, so maybe not as many Mexicans will want to come here, but even this type of government will still encourage illegal immigration because it is a big boost to the Mexican economy. So Americans have to stop illegal immigration themselves and not rely on Mexico to do it, regardless of what Mexican party is in control of the government.

Am I to assume that by 'electoral fraud' you mean if Obrador is found to have lost (as has been demonstrated by at least two vote counts in front of international electoral officials?)

I really think he'll be a laughing stock if he continues to pursue that line.

I think Calderon will slowly make things better there, and that Obrador had a 75% probability of making things worse, with a 10% possibility of making things dramatically better and a 15% possibility of not having a whole lot of impact.

It is true that if Mexico's government starts taking care of its own poor, such as with universal education, rather than encouraging them to sponge off of other countries illegally, we would have a better situation regarding illegal immigration.

I also think that if Obrador won we would have a better situation in that regard, although not necessarily because he would be able to do much for the poor with such a split legislature as he would have. I just think Bush and his buddies would trust him less and would be less comfortable with him, so that they would suddenly have their own reasons for wanting to distance themselves from Mexico. At this point they see Mexico as a tempting source of cheap labor, no matter what it does to the education and health services relied on by most of our country.

I think the question is over, however, and that Obrador should accept a Ministry and run again next time.
