I love the book of Psalms because it's a hymnal of worship and personal devotions unto my Heavenly Father. It expresses all my emotions in this life and has a collective teachings in the entire scriptures.

Shalom

Genesis: B/c without it, the rest of it is just a made-up fairy tale. We need the basis of the Fall of Man and God's perfect creation to appreciate and understand the rest of the Bible.

It all depends upon what mood I'm in. If I want to smile and be reminded that God does indeed work all things together for good even when we can't see Him doing that I like to read the book of Esther.

If I want to be reminded of the sovereign majesty and awesome power of God I like to read the book of Isaiah.

If I feel in the mood for some adventure then I like to read the book of Acts.

If I want to meditate upon the character of Jesus then I read one of the gospels.

One of my favorites is the book of Ruth. It is a story of love and redemption. Ruth a widow follows her mother-n-law to her hometown. Ruth offers her services to a wealthy man named Boaz. Boaz and Ruth fall in love and marry.
