Take it out of the freezer a day or two before you need it and thaw in the fridge, or use your microwave to defrost it. Thawing it in the sink is a no-no! It breeds bacteria and can kill you.

Keeping it sealed, you can immerse it in hot water. The water will cool as the meat thaws. It is a very quick and efficient way of thawing the meat. The more water you use, the faster the meat will thaw. You might put a few inches of hot water in the sink and put the package in that. Then there's the microwave if you have one. I prefer the water method. Depending on the size of the cut, a half and hour to forty minutes should do it.

Put the meat in a bowl of cold water
Put it in the microwave until it's thawed (15 minutes for 6 chicken thighs)
The water will prevent the meat from cooking

You should be taking it out the night before. Or you can defrost it in the microwave, but you have to cook it immediately. The safest way is to let it thaw out for 2 days in the fridge.

Since you are planning on cooking this meat anyway, there is no harm in letting it thaw in the sink as opposed to the fridge. The change in air temperature should make quite a difference from fridge to room temperature.
If you want to give it a head start, put your meat in an airtight container (ziplock bag) and submerge it in hot water!

move it to the fridge at night before you go to sleep and then that way it has several more hours to thaw.. I'm sure it will be ready by then but if its still somewhat frozen but it in some cool water for 20 minutes or so when your ready to start cooking and it should be good to go!

I do attempt to thaw interior the refrigerator, only because I surely have worked in eating places and that i comprehend the horrors of no longer acceptable dealing with foodstuff! although, I do admit, it ought to take countless days for issues to thaw in my refrigerator (I surely have it truly chilly b/c I only get paranoid about undesirable micro organism and issues...) yet when I surely have an finished chicken that isn't any longer thawed each of how, I admit, I only shrink it in 0.5 w/ the kitchen shears and season it and bake it besides. I only account for the little better frozen-ness, and bake somewhat longer. If i do not attempt this, I do the pot w/ non-stop bypass of chilly water over it. Thaws rather rapidly that way.

Depending on its weight you need to let it thaw in the fridge. It may take 2-3 days, but that is the safest way.

Depending on where you are..leave it outside and it will be already cooked for you as well...lol Its HOT here!!!!
On the lighter side..(sorry for the joke)..maybe your fridge is set to high seeing the meat is still frozen..How about taking it out 2 days prior to cooking..I know that's alot of trouble to think 2 days in advance, but you certainly don't want to leave it out on the countertop..
