Could a person call the police information desk 12 times one day, then call the police information desk the next day 12 times without getting into trouble? Keep in mind that each time you call, you are asking real legit questions. And also keep in mind that the same person will be answering each time you call. How many calls can you make before this person answering the phone becomes angry and sends the police out to your house?

It depends on the questions that you have to ask. If they are legitimate questions i don't think they will get mad at you but if you are acting like an idiot then they will certainly send police to your house to harrass for no other reason than they can. Get up, get a job, and get a life so you can stop sitting around thinking of questions to ask the police.

I think that If it does continue someone should take this matter into action, the reason is because this prankster is tieing up the line when a person in real danger might be calling. And if it continues to happen and no one does a thing then they shall both be guilty.

In America that police officer is considered a public servant and that is his job. As long as the questions are legit and not idiotic or prank. He has got to do his job. If you get arrested I would get a lawyer.

They can only do so if you are committing a crime. They may try to threaten you with obstruction of justice since, technically, you are preventing him or her from doing their work, but that won't stick since you are communicating with them in such a way that actually results in them doing their jobs.

Try to collect all of your questions and concerns to be addressed at one time. Better yet, pay a visit to the local precinct and ask to speak to someone in person.

there are alot of people who do that, and some think that the police officers are like plummers or electricians and they know everything when in reality, they don't.

and some people think that police are public servants, in which they are, but they shouldn't have to be called to figure out these problems

You will find that, with very few exceptions, police officers take their training seriously and will be patient, courteous. and helpful at all times. Don't be surprised if one of them calls you by name. All their phones have caller I.D. and they are trained to use it.

I think that as long as you are asking true questions that require their help, they will not get upset; however, if you are asking silly questions, about the third one, they are going to get upset.

Unless they were calling 911, I don't think it is criminal. Just irritating.
