I will still be friends with them, no matter what others say.

It would be very odd if you loved them *because* they dropped out of school!

It depends on whether you are talking about caring for them, or hanging out with them all the time.

The thing is, people can only communicate as a group at the level of the person with the least understanding. So the entire group must drop to that level to communicate effectively.

This doesn't mean that people who drop out of school may not have a great deal of understanding of a great many things, but formal education is designed (though it doesn't always succeed) to introduce a wide variety of ideas to students.

Streets and jobs are not as likely as school to get people thinking about "higher" ideas, like solving hunger problems in the world, for example. They are more likely to encourage people to think about how to get by day to day.

It has been my experience that the people in a social group who are "better" (and related to your question, that means better educated) are brought down to the level of those who are "worse," not the other way around.

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. I think that's often true of groups, too, whether they are groups of two or groups of 100,000.

There is nothing wrong with you. School is not for everyone and can be a down right terrible experience for many. And, I'm a teacher! I've seen many success stories from people that have dropped out but everyone of them wishes they would have stayed. You are a great person for not judging anyone that drops out.

There are alot of high school dropouts who have gone on in life to be very successful individuals. There are many roads to getting to the goal. High school is only one of them. Bill Gates is trying to improve high schools, because he says they are "obsolete" in America. Apparently, the youth in the schools agree. Love everyone, but dont be a sheep. Do what is best for you.

You can have love for whom ever you wish. Just don't admire them for thier choice. Education is very important and unfortunately those who've dropped out are in for a harder life than they would have had if they'd stayed and worked it out. Don't base your love for people on the choices they've made but love them for who they are as a person, inside.

As long as you don't follow them in leaving school; you can be friends with whoever you want to . Unless your parents believe they could be a bad influence on you and you trust your parents' beliefs. Maybe your continuing your friendship with them will help them to one day see the error of their ways and go back to school. You never know; but you can never have too many friends!

Sure, love them. Just don't be like them.
