Some christians claim that the urban legend about Darwin becoming a Christian on his deathbed is true.

Jesus said, on his deathbed (Well..bed..you know what i mean) something like "father, why hast thou forsaken me..."

So, ok, Darwin became a Christian on his deathbed, Jesus became an Atheist on his deathbed.

Good compromize?

hehe, interesting compromise! Good example of logical refutation though--if one side can say something stupid, then so can the other. . . .but, if he was an atheist, he didn't believe in God, and if the whole trinity thing says he is God. . . .then he doesnt believe in the existence of himself. . .which means he can't think that because he wouldn't be thinking anything or he would know he existed. . .which would mean he believed in God. . .and so he couldn't be an atheist. . .um, yep, confusing stuff right there.

Why are evolutionist so adamant that Darwin did not become a Christian. Only God knows the heart of a man. Besides Darwin has been dead for a while now. Why do people dance on the graves of the deceased? The man is gone. It's a pointless debate.

Ahem. I've never used that arguement, though I have heard it.

I hope for Darwin's sake that he did make his peace with God - for his sake, not mine.

As for Jesus, He quoted psalm 22, which was actually a psalm of triumph in the end.

I don't believe that God could turn His back on Jesus for His obedience.

And with but a single stroke the knot is cut! What a nest of paper hornets will stir from this. My opinion is yes, it's a compromise; I don't know if it's going to be well perceived; and I don't know if it's good. The answers promise to be entertaining, that's for sure!

The phrase was my God my God why hath thou forsaken me.

I think it is a good compromize for now, because other approaches would need new ideas and time.

If you think that phrase makes Jesus an atheist, then you need to read the rest of the Bible.
