This is just the management of Carls recognizing that their employees do not grasp English. If you go to any fast food place in Yuma and order in English, you have less than a 25% chance of them getting your order correct. The problem is pervasive is Yuma. Try going to Walmart and ask where you can find an item (such as bottled water or ketchup) in English and you will be met with a blank stare. In fact, Walmart in Yuma refuses to hire employees that do not speak Spanish, but has no restrictions for employees that do not speak English.

Organize A Boycott Of That Restaurant
I Doubt It Will Do Any Good
They Are Apparently Practicing Reconquista

Good Luck

The sign was in English? That's stupid. Why post a sign to non-English speaking people, to tell them to speak Spanish?
But I would rather have someone speak Spanish --TO ALL THE SPANISH SPEAKING ORDER CLERKS AT CARLS JR. -- then to hear their muffled English.
See, when the order clerks can't speak English -- it's easier for them. Carl's Jr. was just trying to be sensitive to their employees, and make the ordering process faster and more efficient. But the sign should have been in SPANISH -- DUH!

God damn it!!! Let all the anti-illegals put out a sign that says "If you are illegal, we don't want your business!" and let's see their business flouresh. Like that guy in PA who put a sign out, "Please order in Engish". The guy across the street that also sells Philly Cheese Steak sandwitches is going out of business while the anti-illegal has lines around the corner. Protest those sleezy illegal hiring snakes and make your point!!!!!! I bet if every business took a stand on illegal immigration, the anti-illegals would be a flourishing business and pro-illegal would go bankrupt. Let's try it, everybody put out your signs!!! I dare you to be pro-illegal and still stay in business these days. We will WIN!!!! Winning is goooooooooood!

By posting this sign in English proves its real intent was to insult Americans. I'd say they are spitting on Americas favorite food before they serve it to Americans! I think LaCoteesa works there, ask here!

OK, is this a Mexican or Spanish restaurant? if so, maybe they're trying to encourage a more authentic experience. If it's a general burger joint or something of that nature, maybe they need to send their legal employees to school, and fire the rest.
Goodness, when did the US become Little Mexico?

I suggest you write to their corporate headquarters about it. I strongly suspect corporate would frown on that sort of action by a franchisee. They are taking advantage of and are supposed to be projecting a corporate image. That sort of action could turn a lot of people off of to going to Carl's Jr.
Let us know what they reply. I live in California, but would boycott here if that were a national policy.

No, it is not illegal. Yes, it is insulting. It is probably the product of a Hispanic manager at the store. I'd complain about it to the chain's home office.

If I'd seen that sign, I'd stop going there and I'd write a nice letter to the corporate office.
