I use my dremel and the one that is designed for cutting glass or ceramics which has a diamond cutting surface. Then I use the smoothing wheel or fine grit stone because you sometimes get a very sharp edge depending on the shell. Also, you will find that some shells have tiny fissures which will crack as you cut, ruining the shell. I find using a magnifying glass and my little vices/clamps to hold the shells while I'm cutting makes it easier. I also wear a dust mask and eye protection, barnacles and other stuff sometimes fly off the shell and could hurt you.

That is not any kind of "recognized" cut, the groomer went way too far down the legs and didn't blend properly. It's grown out a bit, but basically the body was shaved and the legs were either clipper combed or scissored. The dog was given "clean face" and "clean feet" (the feet were shaved too far up the leg), which means the face and feet were shaved very short. They shaved the tail as if they were doing a pom pom, but they couldn't do the pom as the tail is too long. With a shaved body, scissored legs clip most groomers will call it either a lamb clip or a sporting clip, but since such terms are not standard you'd be best to describe the actual haircut or provide the picture.

What do want to do with the shells? Are you trying to carve them or cut discs from them? Your question is too undefined for anyone to give you a really good answer. However, a Dremel tool with cutting discs can be used to carve with. You'll want to use fine wheels or discs and were a mask over your nose and mouth. Eye protection won't hurt either.
