Frankfurt-Hahn is not actually in Frankfurt just so you know. It is about 2 to 3 hours south of it. The airport is in a small city but its a great small airport to fly into if you are looking for cheap flights. If you want to fly from Ireland try Ryan Air...super cheap and it flies directly from Dublin to Frankfurt-Hahn. Brings you into southern Germany, close to France border. Depends on where you are going afterward.

Ryaniair fly there from Dublin I believe.

It's over 1 hour from Frankfurt by bus but there are decent public transport links to the area including Heidelberg.
