The correct way in golf to position the rake after repairing the bunker is next to the bunker in the direction of the play (i.e. the head of the rake should be pointing towards the Green) and if possible away from the Fairway or Green to avoid the distruption of play.

The preferred position is outside the bunker facing the direction of play (with the head pointed toward the green). If the local rules require that the rake be placed in the bunker, it should be placed in a level spot in the bunker facing the direction of play (same as if it were out of the bunker).

Thank you for taking the time to learn proper course etiquette.

It depends on the local rules of the golf club.

However, the general etiquette suggests that you place the rake in parallel with the line of shot to the green. If placing in the bunker try to do the same.

They used to have a spike on the end of the rake so it could be stuck in the ground and stood up vertical offering the smallest chance of someone else hitting it when their ball passed nearby. Many I've seen in the last several year no longer have that spike. so generally the rake is laid on the ground somewhere near the trap on the side away from the green and it is laid parallel to the possible flights of balls hit towards the green where you give the least chance of another golfer striking the ball. I have also seen them just laid in the traps also.

It relies upon on no count while you're hitting out from a green component bunker or from a fairway bunker. Greenside bunker: you're able to desire to place the ball closer on your front ft. aim to enable the club head enter into the sand approximately 2 inches at the back of the ball. If the flag is extra away, attempt to aim the club get admission to into the sand a pair of million inch at the back of the ball. club face would be slightly open and stance is open too. Fairway bunker: don't be too aggressive and aim to hit the ball cleanly (i.e. no longer getting the sand). a three/4 swing could be sufficient to get the ball out and onto the golf green. study the bunker's lip in the previous you hit. If the lip is severe, attempt using a 7 iron. If its low, you're able to desire to aim a 5 iron. the subsequent component you're able to desire to do is to bypass out onto the direction and drop some balls into the golf green & greenside bunkers to aim the counsel. good luck.
