I do know that other people have encountered the same problem: the camera works fine for a while, but, all of a sudden, the image (to be taken) is no longer displayed in the LCD screen, though the screen is working properly, for you can see the controls, icons, etc. If you take a picture thus, it will be completely black. This tends to happen when the warranty is over or you have misplaced the slip.

The problem is with the camera circuits, i think the shutter inside the lens. There is nothing much you can do apart from sending it to the repairer. But you are risking your camera if you take it to an individual repair shop. Find out the estimate from the manufacturer. If it is worth then go for the repair other my suggestion would be to buy a more reliable camera : Canon (THERE IS NO COMPARISON WITH ANY OTHER CAMERAS).
