I have no problem with them. *shrugs* But, I'm not black, so, maybe I'm not the right one to be answering. :) I have no problem with black women either way. Unless I honestly have a problem understanding their patois. That can sometimes be a bit trying. But only because you want to understand what is being said. They are speaking english, but, it's not the language I was raised to speak. :)

People say I act white...and I don't get it.
I agree with kaki that I think it's discriminatory to think that all people of a certain color should act a certain way. seriously!!!
You see a black person act a certain way and you automatically think that they are trying to be someone else? Why don't you try to get to know them first. Before jumping ot conclusions. You don't know them. Or where they some from. That's not nice. And I really get offended when people say that I act or dress white. I take it as an insult. Because i'm like what is acting white...or what is acting black to you? It just pisses me off hearing people say that. ignorant! I feel like im doing something wrong. I be myself. I dont try to be someone im not. my mom taught me well.

i believe your question begs a larger issue. the notion among black and white people that blacks do act or should act a certain way. let me assure you that this idea is dangerously limiting. you are cutting yourself off from a whole range of rich and rewarding things. the notion that you would or wouldn't do something because it is not "black" is closed minded. i know of no other race of people on the planet that put such ridiculous pressure on its members.
i am black. i had a conversation with a white friend of mine. i told him that he can say or think or do anything he wanted and it did not compromise his identity as a white man. i, unfortunately could not. and it is ridiculous that it is that way. in the eyes of many black and white people, a black person cannot do or say or think what they want without compromising their identity. tell me- why do we not let ourselves have that freedom? we want freedom in everything else but we still have a confined mentality. it keeps us from taking full advantage of the opportunities that present themselves because "black people don't do this" or "black people don't do that." our mentality more than anything else in the last 20 years has caused us more problems than any external racism or prejudice. we do it to ourselves!
i am not writing this letter in a critical tone because i want you to hear what i say. i hope you wake up and change your definition of what is black so as not to limit yourself. our culture is broad enough to cover all ranges of likes and dislikes and behaviors and attitudes. there is no such thing as "girls who don't act black."

Here we go, another "act black" question. What IS acting black??? What, is it some stereotypical uneducated only pronounce half the words you say and dress like a hoochie thing? Why can't people just be who they are without having to act a certain stereotype? That's ridiculous. *sigh*

I think it's discriminatory to think that all people of a certain color should act a certain way. I mean, come on, do white people expect all people to act like something out of Uncle Tom's Cabin and do all black people think that white people are stuckup Mayflowerbraggers who have no sense of rhythm?

I agree with Shesh. A person should be able to act themselves without any judgement from anyone else. I would say there is probably a little jealousy going on when someone judges someone else.

What is acting black anyway? How do you "act" a race? I think people should just be themselves and not stereotype thereselves to act a certain way.

I haven't heard this question posed since I was in high school or my first year in college. Since then, people were concerned with etching out a comfortable place in the world for themselves to care. Live, and let live
