There isn't an age, some people don't figure it out until they go to college, many people go to community college to get some credits while they figure out what university they want to go to. Many people start college then drop out and later go back. There isn't an age, if you know which one you want to go to then that is great and you should do it. Just don't feel pressured to know exactly what college you want to go to, too soon. You also have to be accepted to that school, but knowing their requirements in high school can help you reach your goals of going to a specific college.

The sooner the better, so that you can find out what you need to get in. If you wait and then decide that you want to go to a really good school but you dont have a good enough GPA or test scores you may not get in.

I would say get a list of colleges that you want to go to and see what the different requirements are for all of those colleges and then see where you fall. You may be able to get into all of them so you wont have to worry are much.

Typically in highschool they want you to start thinking about it by your junior year, but if you're younger than that, there's nothing stopping you from looking! Just keep in mind that you need to get good grades and all, because most top schools only admit the best. You really want to have a well-rounded education, with good grades and some EC activities such as band, choir, sports, clubs, etc.
