Im from Chicago and now in sunny Florida but i call it pop....These freaks call it soda. End the dabate now and tell me what you call it

Florida = Soda

Georgia = Coke

im from chicago, when i was 10 yrs old i went to visit my aunt in st Louis. She always asked me what i wanted at the restrurant and when I said soda I got a coke I wanted an ice cream soda to me soda is fizzy water with ice cream and pop is coke etc.

Mainly in the Northern states it is called Pop, and in the Southern States it is called Soda. Calling people from Florida, or anywhere, Freaks ....is not cool Dude! The different divisions in geographic locality are also expressed in our country's vocabulary, people are just different, not freaks.

Lived in PA and it was pop, I still say pop in florida but everyone here calls it soda

The actual old term is "SODA POP" so either word is still a derivation of the original.

It only depends where you live. In PA on one side it is pop and on the other it is soda. Just call it whatever you want because it is all the same.

In the south we call it all Coke but I call it soda because if I told my son I was getting him a Coke and brought him a Sprite, he would lose it!! Kids are so literal. So anyway, for me ...soda.

New Mexico=coke, then you specify which kind. Isnt it really called soda pop.
