There should be a sign that looks like a crazy E in your toolbar. Go to the cell where you want the total, click that crazy E thing and then you can drag on the cells that you want to add up.

Otherwise the actual formula is =SUM(A1:A15) or whatever cells it is that you want to add.

In Excel, there's the Greek Sigma (looks like a "squiggly E") icon. If you click your mouse in the cell where you want the sum, hit that icon, and then press Enter, Excel will automatically highlight the numbers you want to add and fill it in.

The other way to do it is to

1) click your mouse where you want the sum,
2) type =sum(
3) highlight the cells you want to add,
4) Excel will fill it in after the parenthese in #2. Hit the Enter Key and Excel will fill in the answer.

Just highlight the column beside where you want to add the column. Then go to insert and click on column.
