Because it is passed by a very quick acting virus called viryawntigous.

No, I really don't know. I have heard a theory that it is a reflex that was used by cavemen to let each other know that it was time to sleep. That sounds like a load of bullcrap to me, especially since yawning is not always related to being tired. I yawn a lot because I have a hard time getting a good breath in. No one really knows why it is contagious. Maybe when someone yawns your subconscious realizes that you could use a good deep breath and so you yawn as well.

This is wierd though: babies yawn in the womb, but they do not breath like we do, they get their oxygen through the umbilical cord.

Nobody really knows, but one theory is that it is part of an instinct about people living together. If one person in a group yawns and everyone else does, then the group feels the same things and becomes more cohesive (i.e., they all feel like sleeping at the same time). No one really knows what a yawn is for either, but it might have to do with the redistribution of lung tissue to aid breathing.

The answer about the body trying to get more oxygen is a commonly held myth. Studies have been done that shows this is incorrect.

It is all about the power of suggestion. You see someone yawn, and a little bit of your brain says "I'm tired too..."

So you yawn.

when a person yawn he/she is e taking in a lot of the surrounding oxygen. you want to yawn too, because you're afraid that your oxygen might be taken up by the other person.

I think most people are somewhat tired or sleepy, so a yawn is very suggestive.

it happens because there is a lack of oxygen so when one starts expect others to follow
