I don't believe they are safe because they are usually poorly light , have many spots for predators to hide. and you are secluded from the public so know you can see what is going on. To me it also a perfect place to have your vehicle broken into or stolen besides being the perfect for someone to attack you. I never use them. I am afraid to. May be I have seen too many movies but I just don't feel safe using them. If you use them just be very careful and try not use them when you are alone. Be careful the world is full of crazies.

I dont think a woman should park anywhere alone, especially at night. Some people are just outright crazy these days.

You can park your car in the parking lot of a grocery store in broad daylight and someone could hijack you in front of everyone....regardless if it's in a parking gararge, in front of your house, outside a club, even near a police station, bad people are going to do things regardless, where they are at...we take chances everyday walking out the door of our safehouses...so what i tell you is if you don't feel comfortable..don't park in them, always have something to protect yourself, but remember don't let anyone stop you from doing your normal things, or make you change your lifestyle......hope that answers it!!!

I think the key is to always look around. If you dont look like a victim those stalking for victims will tend to ignore you. They are looking for someone not paying attention to their surroundings. Like someone on their cellphone, or digging in their purse for keys.

a woman should just be extra careful, but that is the case everywhere if she is alone. i don't really like them, especially at night. they are creepy
