he makes an excuse to turn it off and uopn asking him why he says so i dont look at it, even though he says he has nothing to hide!

There is something on there he doesnt want you to see i had this with my partner, in the end i found out that some girls number on was on there and he had been sleeping with her!!!!
If he has nothing to hide there should be no problem with you having a look good luck sweety

seriously suspicious. if he loved you and was inlove with you then he would not care if you and hi phone were in the same room.
may be he has another girl or two out there and is just using you. I'd ask him why he turns it off make a joke of it, say has he got something to hide, or is he in to porn on his mobile?
we know you said you would not pry but if you would not pry why as k the question anyway?
sounds like you have some trust issues in the relationship. has he cheated on you or other girls in the past that you are aware of? if so then i guess he is as i said cheating on you and attempting to hide the number of the other girls from you.
or may be he has all his ex girlfriends listed with ratings.
the only way to know for sure is to ask him. and why he fears you looking at his phone.
true gent would let you look at his phone for yourself if you wanted to.
he may just be turning his phone off because he does not want any interuptions when the two of you are together.

I know it's difficult to understand and I'm not saying it applies to your situation but I'm the same with my phone.
I was engaged for 3 years and HATED leaving my phone around my partner. We trusted each other completely, it was just one of those things.
I was never unfaithful and never had anything to hide. It was just one of my pet hates.
I'm sure it's nothing but if you're really worried you should talk to him

Yep I think he does have something to hide-- although i dont like my hubby loking on my phone-- i call it my little space for privacy== having 2 kids i dont get anything to myself
Maybe he's just private

OK this is what you do......Wait til he falls asleep..deep sleep..take the phone and go to the bathroom..turn it on and go through his numbers (make sure u have a pen and pad), inbox, out box, saved msg, outgoing calls, missed and incomming calls......take notes!!!! or i forgot the pitures!!!!! Trust me you will find what he is hiding....and its it is anything then u don't have to worry about him being mad that u went through his stuff because you have the evidence to break up with him! GO FOR IT

Some people are real touchy about their personal life, at the same time there is the possiblity that he has some secrets, me personally i don't have anything to hide so it doesn't bother me whether my girl goes through my cell or not, but hey to each his own, but i would watch out, and be real careful, don't let yourself get too attached to him.

well he is either hiding something, in which case i would be sneaky and have a look! my bf has some dodgy picsa on his but nothing to worry about, or he may be a reeally private person. I go mad if anyone looks in my handbag even though theres nothing interesting in it, its just my personal stuff!

I always look at my partners phone not to see his messages he asked me to check it and vice versa cause we have nothing to hide

if you really love this guy and wanna have a good relationship with him you need to make up your mind whether you choose to trust him or not. it might sound (very) old-fashioned, but i strongly believe that genuine trust attracts genuine loialty and faithfullness. the more you suspect your guy of cheating on you, the more you'll push him into doing it. the more trust you show him, the more flattered he'll be and will try to act accordingly. the same aplies to women, so....

Yeah he's got something to hide. I wouldn't trust him if I were you. In case you ever get the chance, look at it. See what he doesn't want you to see.
