**even in the country, there are noise laws. look them up. they usually go something like this:
no barking more than ten minutes in length, or before 7AM or after 10 PM. That's how they are here in the middle of nowhere, No. Ca. The difference is, call the sheriff, not the police.
WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT HARM THE DOG! I hope you're kidding.
you need to find out about noise laws in your county. they are probably online.
Find out exactly which laws your (bad) neighbor is breaking, then call the police business line and report the exact law that is being broken.
sound knowledgeable, do not whine, and make at least 2-3 complaints in a 3 week period.
Finally, if the owner does nothing, you can sue. Hey, at least you'll get money!

Keep registering complaints about the dog. Either the neighbor will get tired of it and take action, or the local animal control and law enforcement will.
For a while, one of my immediate neighbors had a saint bernard puppy: Not a good idea in a small house with 4 kids and a small lawn. And this pup barked all the time. Eventually the man got rid of the dog.

Report the dog to your local animal control department - on a daily basis if necessary. It WILL work. Whatever you do, DO NOT do anything to harm the dog or you will almost certainly wind up in trouble yourself. Confronting your neighbor is also probably a bad idea, as this is how feuds get started and people get hurt. No one will know who has reported the dog to animal control, and if it's bothering you it's probably bothering others, and it's a safe bet that other neighbors will be grateful that someone has done something about it.

verify to verify the dogs has foodstuff, water and preserve even as that is outdoors. If it does no longer, then call the humane society and record that the dogs is being mistreated. the dogs is probably lonely and needs to bypass in with his kinfolk, yet they're too stupid to understand this. bypass over and tell them that the dogs is barking all day and all nighttime and it is bothering you and the different pals. call and record them to the police even as the dogs starts to bark. Make a recording of the dogs barking in any respect hours of the day. undesirable dogs, it isn't any longer his fault that his vendors are morons. you want to be his voice and be conscious that he's faraway from this example. commence complaining and making some calls to record the vendors.

Buy a bark collar and give it to your neighbor as a gift. I have one dog who would bark all night if we let her, so we finally invested in a bark collar (easier than getting up every half hour to shush her). The bark collar has worked wonders:) There is a type that releases citronella or something when the dog barks, and the shock type. I have the shock type, but since it's your neighbors dog, I would go with citronella.

1. Call animal control. 2. Report a disturbance of the peace to the local police, or 3. try confronting your neighbor.

It's not the dogs fault ,it's the owner. It sounds like the dog wants to come in the house(is it an inside dog or an outside dog).I would nicely ask them to not leave the dog out for hours in the mourning ,not before 9:00 am..they can take the dog out for a couple of minutes, for a potty break. I have to sit outside with my little one,or she will bark till you let her in,she doesn't like to be out there alone. The dog is barking because it is not happy out there. It sounds like they are not very good owners. You can be a better person,Get yourself some earplugs or headphones,or turn your radio on. Please don't hurt the dog......

I wouldn't kill it, you would spend more time in jail for killing the dog than if you killed the owners. You could keep calling the police or animal control everyday. Have you tried knocking on their door to let them know the dog is keeping you awake? Find out their number and when the dog starts barking call them to let them know their dog is barking again. And keep calling them!

you can try spraying it with a hose every time it barks. We have a pup and every time it barks for no reason we spray him with a spray bottle filled with water and he stops. He has learned that the only time to bark is when the door bell rings or the is a legit reason to bark. Trainers when they are teaching dogs will do this is the dogs bark instead of listening.

Report this person to the Animal Control Authority in your area. They will handle it from there. The dog may also be being abused.
