I am trying to figure out why I get hurt/funny feelings when I see the banks of newspaper vending machines that display very very scantilly clad and provocatively posed women out in plain view for all to see along the sidewalks in some of the metro areas of my city. I guess I find it degrading but I am not exactly sure why. And then there is the "Value Variety Pack". I assume that you get a whole bunch of different women to "look" at for one low low price. I mean it just makes me feel sad and bad and funny and I don't exactly know why. If anyone can clue me in to the root of these hurtful responses in me, I'd be much obliged. And as a side note, if you do not have anything helpful to say please do not comment. Thank You :)

As a clarification or addition, I don't think that I am hurt by the models personally speaking...for they could easily be replaced by computer generated models or any other medium you can think of and I would still feel hurt by it. It is the representation or presentation of the female form that is in question, not the model per se.

Because you want people to like you for you and not what you look like I would guess. The world exploits women through various means to make money. The problem is that men AND other women don't know the difference between fact and fiction. Men start to think women should all loook like super models and dress like whores. Other women think low of women who don't conform to these standards. It really is sad and I feel the same. You just have to fight these things and be the best you can be and never let anyone keep you down.

I hate to be the one to tell you and please do not think I am being negative, but the fact is is that men do consider women sex objects. This is not the only thing we think about, but sadly, it does come first. I have also come to learn that women enjoy being sex objects. Why else would women dress the way that they do? They like the attention. This is if course not all women. It is all a matter of up bringing. The only thing that I can say to help you is that this is why you live in America. Women are free to do whatever they want
Sorry

I also feel this way, and it's because it affects all women.
The one that bugs me are the mardi gras beads...."Show me your boobs for a set of beads!" I told the guy passing em out that those beads better be made of diamonds because I won't even consider it to get crappy plastic beads. He put 3 around my neck and said, "That's for having class."
Would I flash em for the diamonds? Hell no.
Women have battled this for centuries. Look at the animal kingdom...who picks the mate? The female. It's the males that are plumed, furred, and dressed. The males are the ones that must attract the females, and the females let the males in. It's ***-backwards in humans. Men sit on their butts to be entertained by the women, and some women will shake it however they want for men, not caring whether or not they are committed, involved, married or what. It's insulting to other women. Like the strip clubs---I know women that would go with their husbands/boyfriends, but in the end, they are diminished for it, because inside they are competing. We're not built for that kind of competition---MALES ARE! Let them flash their nuts for the beads. WE should just get them.
ENOUGH RANTING ALREADY!!!!!! JEEZ!

Well this is something very tragic, and heart-breaking. Anyone with a soft heart and thinking mind will feel the way as you feel.
The tragedy is that in this modern world most of us take women as sex dolls, just forgetting that she also has feelings of other nature, and plays so many other important roles in life. She is a wife, sister and above all mother, all so sweet and lovely relations. Yes sex is part of life, and an important one, but not to be treated like that. I respect you all WOMEN, and I salute you for your sacrifice you do in life. You are great. My apologies as representing male gender, if we have hurt you in anyway.

Good 4 u! U R a lady w/ class!
It has gotten out of control. I remember a time all those magazines and movies ect. were hidden in a back room covered by a curtain!
Now 4 get about it. It is shoved in your face.
Men r 2 blame. They love to exploit us gals. Even the dinkiest of towns have a massage parlor, strip club, prosti corners, ect..
It is a shame really. These men are usually married or involved and they r out pickin up prosti's and gettin special treatment from strippers.
When gals show no respect 4 them self's men jump all over that ready to exploit w/ no conscience what so ever.
Thank goodness 4 gals like u and the others!!

It's okay, many women feel the same way! When I went to Las Vegas, I saw all those pimps that supported prostitutes... I hated it sooo much! I didn't want my son seeing those terrible photos on the magazines... but he did of course... he's 10 years old and he already has seen porn. It's terrible. It hurts my feelings very badly that there are women out there that would actually sell their bodys... and there's men that actually support this.. and help them with it.
So the reason we are feeling sad is because these women are women.. just like us.. but they choose to SELL their bodys to perverted men out there. So those men can pleasure themselves looking at women, just like US.. only naked and prostitutes selling their bodys.
It's a shame!! Good luck.

Maybe you feel like the women are being degraded. This saddens you because you are one of the few women left that actually respects herself. Try understanding that those women volunteered to be sex objects and probably enjoy the fowl attention.

It is completely okay to feel that way...I often feel that way to because women nowadays are objectified as sexual human beings that are provacative and are supposed to be sexy..I think that women should not be judged on how sexy they are but how smart and sweet they are..Because bodies go away eventually...So don't think your weird or anything because you could be sensitive more than others to that type of material..It is degrading and annoying..
