If Islam teaches terrorism, then why is it the fastest growing religion?

My friend who graduated with me from high school just embraced Islam, Some people think that Islam is spread by sword, then why did all these people (especially white) convert to Islam if teaches terrorism and is very evil as some people think?

uhhh....islam doesnt teach terrorism. the reason so many people convert is b/c they realize islam is the religion with all the answers. and they are converting to the REAL religion, not the one that terrorists made up.

Islam doesn't teach terrorism. It's as much about love as Christianity. Yes, there are extremists that take it too far, but there are extremists in Christianity as well.

If you read the Bible or the Torah, you'd actually realize that Christianity, Judiaism and Islam all descended from Abraham. They all have the same God.

The problem isn't that people are converting to Islam, it's that people are refusing to look into the religion and only see the extremists. There is a lot in the Qu'ran that teaches love, just like the Bible. You need to look past sterotypes of people because you'll never find the reason people do things if you don't.

First of all, Islam is NOT the fastest growing religion. It just happens that muslims have a much higher birth rate than other populations. Also, in islamic countries, leaving islam for say another religion like christianity, etc will incurr the death penalty. So many people who consider themselves muslims don't really believe in islam but continue to appear to do so in order to protect themselves. In other countries, people who leave islam will get ostracised by their families and peers, so leaving islam to them is also not an option.

Also, Islam does not teach terrorism. Terrorism is a western concept to fool the westerners. Islam instead teaches Jihad which is "holy fighting in Allah's cause" which by definition is not terrorism.

Because extremism is the hope of the desperate.

Islam basically teaches that it will conquer the other religions, so people who live in poverty or don't see a path to success can join Islam because the Muslims are out trying to kill all non-Muslims. So eventually, in theory, the Muslims will have all the land, wealth, and power.

There are, I'm sure, also some people who interpret the Koran as an instrument of contentment and peace. But the world sure isn't seeing a whole lot of that.

In every religion, there is extremist. Islam doesn't teach terrorism, that is what the American public wants you to believe. Islam is normally a peaceful group, however, there are the Osamas of the world and others alike that say they are killing in the name of God. Remember, Christianity and the crusades. This was implemented by the papacy as Islam was attacked by Christians. So you could say that some "so called Christians" spearheaded terrorism.

Islam happens to be expanding in the part of the world that is expanding the most...Africa and Asia. Most if not all religions teach peace however you will always have the taint of man. Islam is just a couple hundred years on the cultural learning curve. They blow them selves up in a movie house or restaurant. Christians used to think that women who spoke their minds where witchs and they burned them. Jews would kill at any mention of Heresy or word against the Torah.

in most religions, converting starts by admitting you did wrong(sinned), then you ask to be forgiven and are(repenting).

islam does not require you to admit you did any wrong, nor to ask for forgiveness. they think just pray 5 times a day and follow their rules from now on and you be ok.

it is an easy religion to do, but the followers also can't drink or gamble or sleep around. and alot of muslims come to the usa so they can do those things(if they do them in their own country, they are put to death)

islam was/is spread by the sword. in some places when a country loses a war, the losers convert to whatever religion the winners have to shut them up

It doesn't teach terrorism. It really is a peaceful religion and I feel bad for all of the Muslims who are now being clouded by this small group of terrorists who are committing horrible atrocities in the name of the Muslim faith. Christian terrorists have used the Christian religion to carry out horrible crimes, like hate crimes, bombing abortion clinics, and so forth, but you'd never say that Christianity teaches this form of terrorism. Some people pervert the religion to suit their beliefs and spread their own hatred of others.

Never the Islam said kill the people ( Kids-women,,,,,,etc) even the plants you could never destroy if you are a Muslim.
