The original god called Allah was a moon god worshiped in Mecca. When Muhammad came, they threw out all of the idols but the one of Allah, a seated man with a crescent moon on his chest. There have since been found tombs that predate Islam with this same idol. And if you want to get technical, Allah didn't have a son, he had three daughters.

I do not believe in Islam but I respect people who are true believers. I respect any other religion that do not insult me.
I do not know if Islam is right or wrong because I do not know anything about it. I cannot comment something that I have not read.
