Both are wrong. The second sentence is grammatically correct, however, both state the wrong answer to seven plus five. Seven plus five is twelve, not eleven

Well, first of all, seven plus five is twelve. About the "is" or "are", "is" sounds more correct, even though now that I think about it, it doesn't really make sense.
