Young teachers suck, I didn't learn anything from them. Their teachers methods are repulsive. I would rather learn from a pizza hut worker than them.

I know it's hard, parents think they know it all and young teachers, well, are young teachers.

Try to keep your wits about you. Calmly say, "You cannot talk to me that way. If you want to talk about the situation, I will be happy to talk it over with you, but as mature adults." If the parent keeps it up, I would ask the Principal or Vice-Principal to intervene. Perhaps sit with you in a meeting. The more support, the better.

Arm yourself with documentation and evidence (about the child's behavior or grades).

Reassure the parent that you are here to help his/her child do well in school and you need their help, too.

The parent may be frustrated about the situation, too. He/she isn't
demonstrating it very well.

Good luck. I've been in your shoes.
Having the support from the administration is a tremendous help.

I just read your other comments. How old are you?
Being a teacher is a VERY difficult job. A young teacher is just starting out and feeling his/her way through the job. I seriously doubt that a Pizza Hut worker could even handle the job. The teacher would probably perfer dealing with Pizza Hut customers than with students who are uncooperative and disruptive.

By young teachers, I think you must mean novice teachers without much experience, correct?

Don't lose your cool and curse back. Just grit your teeth, and be a professional, be the bigger person. You can be icily cold to them if you want. Unfortunately, teachers are held to a higher standard of behavior so you really can't curse them back. Definitely you want to inform your principal of the situation.

A lot here depends on the context... are you talking about if a student cusses you out in class? Or are you talking about if a parent and a student do it during a conference? We need more details, please!

I had a student who called me a b**** in class, I made him leave my room and go to the office. He got suspended for several days and finally kicked out of school, not just for that but for a multitude of offenses.

Just remember, be a professional but you don't have to take anything from anybody, especially a student. Hang in there!

You know I am young, 37. I was in the Army went back to school when I got out and became a teacher, and you know what I am smarter then you. You know why because I realize that it does not matter the age of a person who is a teacher, what matters is what they have to offer. If you were talking about 12 years ago I may agree with you, but after all that I went through to become a teacher I can tell you that teachers today do know more then teachers of yesterday and they have twice as many things to do to get there. I wish your kid was my student, so I could tell you to shut the hell up and get out of my class. That is what I tell stupid parents. As for my students they know better then to push me as I will gladly kick them out of my class and fail them, making them take summer school. (and yes the school allows me to do that). Teachers don't have to put up with yours or your child's abuse.

No easily no longer! those are youthful ones that he's cursing at, and that is absurd. the 2d that his ft go away the faculty, he can curse his head off as a lot as he needs to. He can curse his own existence away if he likes. yet heavily, cursing infront of youngsters is nuts, rather for the reason that he's directing the curse words on the children. Now, if the instructor is making use of it in context, like your first get mutually w/ the coach, then thats superb. I recommend, i bypass to a private college and when we discovered about vulgarities and stuff, the instructor stated curse words in college as examples. so as that first one's superb. notwithstanding the 2d one, because it isn't any longer an get mutually, probably is going antagonistic to school coverage/code. desire this enables!
