I knew a kid named Harry Butt. I think the parents should have thought about it a little more before naming their child. Unless they planned on him to get made fun of all throughout his life.

Something too long or hard to spell. Don't want to have any problems when filling in forms by hand or on the phone! Too common names are to be avoided because it's not fun having 3 peoples with the same name as you in your class (I lived that). Also, I try to avoid names who have a weird sound to it with the last name. For example, I consider that Blue, even though a color, makes a cute name (I have a collegue named Blue) but it would look strange Ms. Blue Green. I had a classmate called Pierre Laroche (both are synonyms of stone), just sounds funny.

people should ask others what they think of the names before they name their kids

If i were you I would try to break out of the mold and use unique names...nothing like the traditional Michael, Matthew, Susan, Sally, Joseph, etc. don't get me wrong, I like names from the bible because I am a firm believer, but they are grossly OVERUSED.

Any ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend. If you want an unusual name, stick with family names and stay away from trendy names.
