she should walk around in ankle weights to strengthen her obviously weak ankles. then practice in the shoes. if that doesn't work, she could always get a real job or go back to school.

I know several dancers and they make great money, so that may be the allure for her. However, many of those girls have a self esteem issue and desire any attention they can get from men. Even though it's not a positive manner of attention, they still crave it. So relationships are not quality ones, and generally the women become more and promiscuous as they get deeper and deeper into the profession. Not to mention the drugs that are so prevalent. Many times over, I have heard several of these girls tell me they wish they had never started because it is so hard to get out of. They love the money, but it tends to go to drugs, and living a lavish lifestyle. They wish they would have continued their education, but can't afford to quit dancing.
If it were my daughter, I'd take her to a seedy dance place on a Friday night (payday for the patrons) and let her see first hand what it is all about. It's not as glamorous as Hollywood makes it out to be.

Well, there's really nothing you can do to stop her except express your disapproval and explain that it's a bad atmosphere for young women and that she will no doubt be exposed to perverts who will try to grope her or offer her money for a lap dance or sex, the opportunity for drugs and the constant exposure to cigarette smoke. She'll probably be asked by management to do more than dance in order for the place to sell more drinks. The 6 inch heels are the least of her problems. Where is she getting this idea. Tell her to start looking at the catalog for the community college and get some sort of training to get a job so she can take care of herself in the future.

Well you are not being respectful by saying she can barely stand (unless she is handi-capped) These kinds of comments with undoubtedly hurt her self esteem, leading to behavior like this. (or not) She may think it is perfectly moral take this job.Let her know that you are unhappy about it. If she lives in your home, then she has to follow your rules. If she is on her own then it is her business, and you will need to find a way to deal with it, and love her. Either way you can tell her that you are upset about it.

There's a certain point where you can't tell your kids what to do anymore, really, and if your daughter is 20 you probably don't have much say in the matter, unfortunately.
