what would be a good middle name for ethan?

my boyfriend and i have decided to name our baby boy ethan but we can not agree on a middle name his first pick was harley and i shot that down my pick was braylon and he didn't like that then he said joesph which is his and his father's middle name i was going to agree then he changed his mind i also suggested royce but again he said no please help us

I found that the number of syllables in the last name makes a difference. If it is two syllables for Ethan, two for the middle name, then two or three for the last, it will work. But for example , Ethan Allen Smith doesn't work because of the quick end to a flow you already have going. On the other hand, if you put a single syllable with a one or two syllable last name, it flows, like Ethan Bryce Carls. Keep in mind, that the last name of a boy will not change, unlike a girls'. So they will have to live forever with the moniker you give the child. Do your research, too. Joseph, father to Jesus, his brother was James. Ethan James flows. But know what the meaning of the name is! I named one of my girls "truth", one "beloved of God", one "queen", and one "protector of men", all based on the meaning of the names. Both of you can write down your lists of combinations, speak them out loud to the other, to hear how they sound. Do an elimination that way.

Any name that begins with a vowel would go with Ethan very nicely. Kids need regular names, not strange ones. Everybody is on this kick that they have to be "different" and the kid has to suffer with an odd name no one can pronounce, spell and/or sounds ridiculous as an adult.
