You can start now especially if your daughter seems to understand the concept
I bought my daughter a potty seat around her first birthday. I let her pick it out and we try to use it daily. She sits on the potty whiel her bath is filling and occasinally she will "go". I always praise with tons of clapping and "what a big girl you are". Now she is starting to go over and try to put the potty seat on after shes wet her diaper which leads me to believe we're closer to being ready for full on training soon.
Just take your cues from her tho. Good luck! Arent they so much fun at this age?

If your daughter is anything like my son then you will know. When she can tell you she needs to be changed or when she starts taking off her own diaper then it is time and the best way to go about it is when ever she wakes up in the morning first thing you do is put her on the potty and when ever you go to the bathroom take her with you and ask her if she has to go and of coarse she is not going to know what that means but just put her on the potty again and eventually it will turn into a cycle and she will get used to it and want to go to the potty by herself. I hope this helps.

if your daughter shows interest in the potty then you should start both of my girls started potty training between 16-18 months with my oldest it took 6 months and my youngest we are going on 6months and still working at it all children potty train in their own time don't push hard and the best way to go about it is to try to make it fun when she dose go in the potty be excited and when you change her Dipper let her sit on the potty even if she dose not use it this will help her get use to the concept of using the potty

Try at about age 2.
Here it is- it has worked for my 2 kids, and others after I tell them........
1. get m and m's handy
2. get a small potty chair
3. get a couple books about potty
4. you need to be home for about 4-5 days straight
5. now you can start. let them run around bare-but
6. Set the timer for 1/2 hour. Tell him/her to sit on the potty for 5 min. (read them a book in the mean time if it's to long for them.) If they go, give lots and lots of praise!!! I mean go crazy!! Give them about 3 m and m's.
7. Set the timer for 1/2 hour
8. Avoid asking the question "you got to go potty?'
9. Timer goes off- ok! What does that mean junior? Time to go potty again he or she would say, or you say it if they don't
10. repeat process all day long. If they go # 2 in the potty, reward with a handful of m and m's. They are very colorful and kids love them!!
11. Praise praise praise. I do spank my kids for behavior problems such as lying, disobedience, and bad attitudes, but never for having an accident. If there is an accident, clean it up queitly, and don't say much at all. Remind them it's ok, but try to make it in the potty next time, or in your own words.
Good luck!!! Hope this helps you. My girl was potty-trained in one day with the method. Took my son a week. Leave pull-ups on them at night just in case.
p.s. if this doen't work at all, try again in a few months.

Yea, I'd say don't worry about it too much. Until they are ready there is not much you will be able to do. You will be training yourself. As she gets a little older she'll start queing you or becoming aware and letting you know when she is "going" in her diaper. Then she's probably ready and you can help her practice going through the motions of using the potty, several times. www.drphil.com has a good segment on this also.

If she knows when she's going or about to go then she's ready to be potty trained. I know a few kids who weren't ready until they were around 3. But there are a few that are ready before that. If she knows what's going on and can tell when she needs to go it will make it a whole lot easier. I babysit an 18 month old boy and I used to take him every hour or so but we soon found out that he wasn't ready. Good luck!

start taking her into the bathroom when you use the bathroom and see if it sparks her curiousity to try it herself. The more times she sees you using "potty" the more it will become familiar to her. Buy her a new potty and make it special since it is hers or buy her a bench to climb up to the toilet.

Let her be the judge when she is ready--You can take her and by some cute undergarments that she likes--(favorite character etc.) put hem in her room and talk with her telling her --they are "special, or fancy" and that she is starting to be a big girl ,etc--
--Dont ever push her--it may cause problems down the road--
She will eventually decide she doesnt like to be wet--and will start telling you that--
Have you tried pull-ups yet?--if not.....try underwear 1st--they really do not know when they are wet with pull-ups until it starts getting heavy---and this doesnt help!--WIth underwear they know immediately!
Be ready for lots of accidents if you decide to start off with regular underwear 1st--
Be patient--they will let you know when they are ready--
Good luck!

If your daughter seems like she is ready then try it, ie-she feels uncomfortable when she is wet. I would praise her, reward her if she goes, let her go in w/ you so she can see what to do
