I've heard people say it different ways... usually here, though, we say "stoo-pid". That's normally what I say!

Gosh this is a pretty stupid question, but I just wanna know! Lol

It is a stupid question. I usually say ignorant or imbecilic. But, on a rare occasion I guess I would say stoo-pid. Best wishes

Stoo-pid. I think 99% of Americans say it that way.

I say shtyew-pid because I'm from the UK and most UK people say it that way.

This happens with many other words. News is a good example. I say nyoos whereas some people say noos.

In the old world people are just 'stupid:

In the New World they are 'stoopid or even styewpid'

Sometimes ago one questioner had asked whether he/she should go to America for improing her English.

Stupid! Stoopid!! Styewpid!!!

Actually, there was a movie that I loved called Empire Records. I always say it three times, and I always say;

"stew-pyd, stew-pyd, stew-pyd."

I liked Gina's (or whatever the bald girl's name was, I don't remember?) character... She was such a morbid little beeatch...

And... When saying it to someone I know. I like to pat them on their head as if they were a dog or a puppy and say it like I am speaking to an actual dog... "Hello stupid." All friendly and gushy like you were actually praising a dog. It's fun!
