I'd go, and just avoid the Golan and Galilee, sadly, but I've gone three times during the second intifadah and never had a problem. If you will be on a tour, it shouldn't be a problem, most tour companies have VERY up to date and accurate security information. Most importantly, have fun! The Negev is beautiful, as is all of Israel.

Don't cancel your trip. Israel is beautiful and wonderful even while we're at war. If things are the same by Sept. just try to keep away from the north. If you think about it, car crashes kill more people than any war.
Have fun! :)

You have got to be joking - tourism to Israel has rocketed - they are now advertising action packed adventure tours - Don't cancel
the people are great they will welcome you like you are a hero for coming and there is a lot to see besides the North- but if it gets really bad maybe register in the consulate and then you can be evacuated to Cyprus and so you will get 2 trips for the price of one.
all kidding aside Never postpone seeing the Holy Land

I was supposed to go in two weeks and was able to get out of the trip because of the current situation. You may be able to get out of it. I would not travel there right now and I have family there. You should just postpone and go to Israel.

I would tell you you were NUTS if you went there in the near future. Actually, even if things calm down for a while doesn't mean they can't get bad again. Ever hear of Florida? The only wars we have are "drug wars," Republican vs. Democrat wars," "gang violence" and you know.......the usual. You can handle that stuff.......

It's up to you. If you're thinking of staying home in the US, though, keep in mind that you're more likely to die a violent death almost *anywhere* in the US than in Israel.
